Riley Days and More in October.

The Riley Festival celebrates the birthday of Indiana-born poet, James Whitcomb Riley, with one of the largest craft festivals in Indiana, and it opens this Thursday in Greenfield. I'm thrilled to be returning to The Bread Ladies as part of their entertainment lineup for Riley Days. The Bread Ladies is located on the east side of the courthouse on American Legion Place. I'll be playing 12:30-2:30 on Friday. Enjoy the festival and drop by The Bread Ladies!

On Sunday at 2:30, stop by the entertainment tent at the Riley Festival to hear Roots and Branches. Roots and Branches is like the Grateful Dead of folk-gospel groups. They will be there with eclectic instrumentation for an entertaining hour of roots music. If you're at the festival on Sunday, don't miss it!

October 13 will be a busy Saturday. It will be good to be back at Lazy Daze Coffeehouse that morning, 10:00-11:30. Then I'll be at Boulevard Place Cafe as part of the Broad Ripple Music Festival at 2:45 that afternoon. That evening, I'll try to catch CROSSOVERroad at The Fellowship Coffeehouse.

I'm very excited to be making a return to Georgia at the end of the month. On Saturday, October 27, I'll be performing as part of Appalachian Weekend at Cherry Log Christian Church. The weekend is sponsored by The Craddock Center and celebrates Appalachian music and arts. I'll also get to see several old friends as Cherry Log was my first call out of seminary.

Last Friday at The Bean Cup was lots of fun. Several people came out, including some friends who came all the way from Monon, Indiana to the south side of Naptown. What a fun evening! I'm hoping to post some photos from that one soon.

As the days get shorter and the nights get a little chillier, may you have near to you whatever it is that brings light to your days and warmth to your heart.
